Volcano Cosiguina
Volcano Cosiguina is an inactive volcano with a crater lake that spans over a mile wide. While enjoying the views at craters edge, looking out over the gulf of fonseca you will see the neighboring countries of El Salvador and Honduras and learn why they call this volcano "El mirador de tres paises". Being a nature reserve you will enjoy one of the most preserved forests and wildlife areas in the Northwest corner of Nicaragua.
This is a hiking trip that will take all day. Your day will start with a 2 hour scenic drive to the base of Cosiguina. Next you will hike up 3 hours to the top. Here we rest and have lunch. Take another hour exploring the craters edge. Last we descend and make our way back to the hotel.
Trips depart at 4am or 9am.
